The luna moth is one of natures most gorgeous beauties of the insect world, and your capture here is just phenomenal! I love lunas, and this one is the best I have ever seen! Congrats on your very well deserved sale of this special capture, Deborah!
Deborah Johnson replied:
I am always delighted to see the Lunas appear in the spring and throughout the summer I am always amazed by them. Thanks for the glowing support.

Congratulations Deborah, I've always been jealous of this one as they are so rare and even if I saw one I couldn't capture it any better.

Thanks Lara for the supportive remarks. I know the porch light delima as I see so many interesting moths and bugs afrter dark, but the lighting is soooo hard to work with, so I take pics to at least document them.

Beatiful photo with amazing detail! These guys are tough to get. I always see them at night around my porch light (not the best photo backdrop Lol). I really like the way you captured this one in it's natural environement. :-)

Excellent detail you lucky lady. They are rare in these parts and I haven't seen one in over 5 years. Great shot!
Deborah Johnson replied:
Thanks for commenting. I have only just begun to see them more around here, the main reason for their decline has been pesticide use. Glad you have enjoyed this image.
